VIDEO: Ghosts of JFK: The President's 1961 visit to Ottawa

Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, Governor General Georges Vanier (hidden) and President John F. Kennedy walk down the red carpet at Uplands Airport.  Behind them are Pauline Vanier, Jacqueline Kennedy and Olive Diefenbaker. Photo by Harold L. Sellers from the JFK Presidential Library and Museum collection.

To mark the 50th anniversary of JFK's death, Ottawa artist Andrew King has created a video tribute showing photos of the President's visit to Ottawa in 1961. It was his first state visit outside of the United States. The video starts with touchdown of Air Force One at Uplands Airport, May 16, 1961.
