Thursday, June 6: Jane Siberry at Westfest
Jane Siberry has made some truly beautiful music over the years and her trips to Ottawa are few and far between. I think this is going to be a very special show. Remember this song she had on the soundtrack to the movie The Crow? http://youtu.be/93LGdOKSvMU

Friday, June 7: Nicole Ratté at La Grange de la Gatineau
About 25 minutes drive from downtown Ottawa -- just outside Cantley, Quebec -- is a 180-year-old log mansion called La Grange de la Gatineau. La Grange regularly hosts musical evenings, and this Friday local jazz singer Nicole Ratté will bring her trio there. The excellent acoustics and heritage interior will only enhance her repertoire of standards, Latin numbers, and special arrangements of well-known French songs.

Friday, June 7 - Saturday, June 15: Magnetic North Theatre Festival
Here's your chance to catch up to seven fantastic Canadian plays in town for the festival. This weekend I'm headed to see Canadian alt rocker Hawksley Workman in The God that Comes - described as "wine-soaked hedonistic revelry mixed with theatre mixed with rock-and-roll." What better way to spend a Saturday night?"

Tuesday, June 11: Tree Reading Series with Amanda Earl & Dawn Kressan
Poetry at 8pm following open mic, Royal Oak II BASEMENT, 161 Laurier E. A bit of self promo here. I will be reading excerpts from four long poems/poem series written in the past year. My fellow feature is Dawn Kressan is a poet from Kingsville, Ontario. You can also read at the open mic. Tree returns to one of its earlier venues, the cozy basement of the Oak. I hope you'll come. I have a new dress.
