We'll publish the full line-up at 6:30am here on our blog...
- On December 13, Bluesfest confirmed via Twitter that they've confirmed a major country music headliner.
- Also via the Bluesfest Twitter feed: "Looks like we could have a VERY EXCITING announcement to make in mid January re: the 2013 line-up! Stay tuned during Holidays 4 more hints!"
- Taylor Swift is touring in the eastern United States in June and July. Could that be who Bluesfest is hinting about?
- One Direction is playing Montreal July 4. Maybe they'll be in Ottawa later that week?
- Sometimes the line-up for the Festival d'été de Québec (July 4-14, 2013) or Osheaga in Montreal (August 2-4, 2012) can provide some clues. Neither festival has announced their line-ups yet.
- Here's a list of major artists touring in 2013.
- Justin Bieber will not be playing at Bluesfest. He's scheduled to perform at Scotiabank Place on July 23.
- Will Blue Rodeo play again this year? They usually do.
- Pollstar lists Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys and Alejandro Escovedo as playing at Bluesfest on July 14.
- Other possible acts, according to readers Festival Outlook: Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath.
- Skrillex is on Montreal on July 12 and Toronto on July 13 so a Bluesfest return looks likely.
- The Ottawa Citizen recently published an article about the Montreal Jazz Fest line-up. That festival runs from June 28 to July 7. The Montreal line-up includes acts like Leon Russell, Dr. John, Sharon Jones, Aretha Franklin, Belle and Sebastian and more.

ReplyDeleteRush
Rammstein, play festivals in the summer, though Ottawa might be too small
Saying Bluesfest is too small is a joke. It's a first rate festival that got sidetracked last year. Rush and Rammstein are good bands and they're not too big to play Ottawa. Bluesfest has already had 20,000 Rush fans attend in 2009. Other acts like Sting, KISS, Soundgarden, Santana, White Stripes, Black Keys have all graced the stage and noone thought they were too big for Ottawa.
DeleteBring THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND BACK TO OTTAWA!
ReplyDeletePlease join my FB group and RT my Twitter messages, we HAVE to make this happen.
Bruno Mars is playing Toronto on July 3rd and Montreal on July 5th...
ReplyDeleteRush are in Hamilton ON on July 6th and then there are six days between shows. Next date is July 12th in Halifax NS so you know that they have to go through Ottawa to get to Nova Scotia. Pencil them in as one of the big draws. A far cry better than Nickelback!
ReplyDeleteSteve Earle's also got a new album dropping in April. Could a return to Ottawa be in the works. His last solo show was top notch and drew very well.
ReplyDeleteNine Inch Nails announced yesterday they are back and touring starting this summer and leading into next year. Let's get them here!
ReplyDeleteThey just added Bjork yesterday. Nine Inch Nails is playing the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan on July 27th, 2013, and on July 26th 2013 Bjork plays Fuji Festival. Could be a red herring or maybe NIN will be added to the line-up, if they did I'd buy a ticket in 3 seconds or less - I wouldn't even look at the price.
ReplyDeleteWe need Arcade Fire!!
