Weekly volunteer round-up: Baking, Painting, Art Study Support

Here are some great local volunteer opportunities, courtesy of VolunteerOttawa.ca:

Baking and Culinary Volunteer @ The Ottawa Rotary Home
The Ottawa Rotary Home is currently seeking a volunteer with Baking and culinary abilities. To come in our home an teach/show individuals with disabilities about cooking and learn about different cultures through food. We would be looking for an individual to come in twice a month on weekends or during some weekdays.

From October 11 to 14, The Ottawa Mission is looking for keen volunteers to paint the walls and ceilings in the dormatories. Hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. full time, or any part-time period during those hours. Supplies will be provided. Both individuals and small groups of volunteers are welcome (maximum group size is 5 people). Around 185 men sleep in the dormatories every night, and they will definitely appreciate a clean, bright, newly painted room.

Be part of creating a successful program for the Art-in-View Committee of the Volunteers' Circle of the National Gallery of Canada . An opportunity has arisen to expand our Committee. We are looking for a person or persons who enjoy working alongside other volunteers to create a series of 6 lectures with a gallery component for the Spring and Autumn sessions.
