Weekly volunteer round-up: Wii Gaming, Computer Teacher, Soccer Coach

Some recent volunteer positions from Volunteer Ottawa:

  • Wii Gaming @ Colonel By Retirement Residence
    Looking for a volunteer to play Wii with our residents on a Sunday afternoon, 1:30 pm. Allow for more opportunities for our residents to be engaged in activities  Allow volunteer to interact with seniors while enhancing the quality of life of the residents who live at Colonel By
  • Volunteer to teach computer basics @ The Glebe Centre-Abbotsford House
    The Glebe Centre/Abbotsford House require a volunteer to help seniors learn new computer techniques including facebook. This position would be on a one to one basis during the day.
  • Soccer Assistant Coach @ Canadian Mental Health Association
    An awesome experience in assisting street involved individuals (adults)in playing soccer games on Tuesday afternoons. An interested applicant would have some knowledge of the soccer game, experience in coaching groups of people, an awareness of mental health and substance use issues challenging individuals, some conflict resolution experience too. Patience, energy, communication skills and a non-judgmental approach is also a part of this position. Drills, practice and game runs Tuesday afternoons from 1:30pm-3:30pm.
