Weekly volunteer round-up: Cessna 150 Interpretation, Girl Guide Leader, Choir Assistant

Some recent local volunteer opportunities from Volunteer Ottawa:

  • Cessna 150 Interpretation @ Canada Aviation & Space Museum
    Help the Canada Aviation & Space Museum visitors experience the sensation of flying a Cessna 150 aircraft! Position involves assisting the public in climbing aboard the Cessna 150 aircraft, explaining the basic principals of aircraft operation as well as basic flight principals. Must enjoy working with public of all ages. As the ideal candidate, you have a certain knowledge of flight controls and/or flight theory.
  • TAMIR NESHAMA CHOIR - Volunteer Choir Assistant 
    Support the Tamir Neshama Choir by helping to supervise the participants, and assisting the Choir Director with basic logistical tasks. Outline of Responsibilities: Attend weekly choir rehearsals.  Support participants during choir activity by assisting with mobility issues, helping to maintain focus. Distribute robes, choir binders, etc.  Assist at other Choir performances on request as available. (i.e. Special events, Choir bookings, etc).  Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Musical aptitude and singing ability an asset.
  • Girl Guide Leader
    We at Girl Guides of Canada are in need of Leaders for the following communities: Greenboro, Ottawa, Arlington, Nepean and Barrhaven from September 2011 to June 2012. The Girl Guide programme is fun and varied; no two meetings are alike! You'll encourage these girls to take the lead, get involved, help others, and go to camp and take trips.
