Weekly volunteer round-up: Bridge Club Programmer, Scrapbooking Assistant, Ping Pong Event Volunteer

Some recent volunteer opportunities from Volunteer Ottawa:
  • Bridge Club Programmer @ The Westwood Retirement HomeA "Bridge programmer" would be an individual who knows how to and enjoys playing Bridge, is able to teach others and organize individuals into groups.Qualifications and Qualities include: Friendly and outgoing Patient, tactful and polite Comfortable with elderly people
  • Scrapbooking Assistant @ Extendicare New Orchard LodgeTo assist activity staff with the creative fun of scrapbooking to allow more residents to participate fully in the program, which will focus on photo albums. This program will take place on Friday mornings from 10am - 11:15am.
  • Ping Pong Event Volunteers Sat. Sept 24 @ Christie Lake KidsThe Youth Services Bureau, Operation Come Home, and Christie Lake Kids want you to play ping pong in the 2nd Annual Ottawa Charity Ping Pong Tournament. We are bringing together people, ping pong, athleticism, and fun in an effort to raise money and awareness for these local charities. We are thrilled to be hosting this event at Capital Music Hall located at 128 York Street in the Byward Market. With over 150 participants expected, this is sure to be a ping pong event of epic proportions. The fun begins Saturday September 24th 2011 at noon. Duties include player check-in and registration, ping-pong table set-up/take-down, scorekeepers/BBQ helpers.
