Weekly volunteer round-up: Shoreline clean-up, Social media promoter, Water station volunteer

A few interesting local volunteer opportunities, courtesy of Volunteer Ottawa.

  • Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup Volunteers
Help the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup! We will be cleaning litter from at TWO locations this september; first at Dow's Lake (September 20) and then at Mud Lake Conservation Area (September 24).
  • Social Media Promoter and Event Champion for the VOscars
Volunteer Ottawa is hosting a new signature fundraising event called the VOscars. It provides all the glitz and glam of the red carpet and awards our community for their support of volunteerism. It is going to be an exciting night filled with entertainment, good company and exquisite food! We are looking for Social Media Event Champions to help promote our event and help us sell tickets!
  • Water Station Volunteer - Army Run
  • Join our amazing Team Diabetes Water Station Volunteer Team at the Canadian Army Run - Sun. Sept. 18th (early morning to mid-afternoon). Our location is close to the new Convention Centre, on Colonel By Drive. We'll hand out water & gatorade to thousands of people as they walk or run by! It's fun. It's exciting. It's very memorable!
