I don't know about you, but whenever I head down to the
Busker Festival, I always run into someone I know. Does that happen to you?
This year we ran into photographer
Chris Griffin and his family, who are our neighbours in Stittsville. What are the chances that, among throngs of busker watchers, we happen to end up standing next to people who live a block away from us?
Chris had his camera with him and emailed me a few shots from the
FlameOz show, a group from Australia who do a street circus show.
Incredible feats of balance and strength. We were just watching and worked up a sweat, standing in the afternoon sun in the middle of Sparks Street:
One of the most captivating parts of the FlameOz show was when one of the performers manipulated these glass(?) spheres and made them seem like they were floating and dancing in the air. Which led to the inevitable bawdy busker joke about the performer playing with his balls.
The Ottawa International Busker Festival continues today, with the grand finale at 6:30pm at Metcalfe & Sparks.
