Yet another Ottawa radio station name change: Less EZ Rock, more BOOM

Update: Here's the official press release announcing the switch

The Ottawa Citizen has a report that Ottawa radio station EZ-Rock will be getting a new name and a new format:
"In an announcement to be made Thursday, the station will be renamed BOOM and play music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The station, at 99.7 FM, is dropping the music of contemporary artists and playing a “greatest hits” format from those decades, said general manager Denis Bouchard."
The station is owned by Astral, who run a french Boom station (radio des legendes) in Montreal and an english Boom station (Toronto's greatest hits) in Toronto.  They also own The Bear in Ottawa.

oh crap, can't they leave things alone?????????? Just find something you like and it is gone. I will not be listening. I liked the old EZ Rock, and it's music. I do not like the music format that they will be playing. Too bad, another thing gone from my life I liked. Companies to not care about their clients, radio is no different. Will get my news from the paper and music from my CD's. You lose, I can't wish you well.
