RE-BLOG: Six little-known Ottawa tourist attractions

OttawaStart is on a short summer haitus this week, so we're re-posting some of our favourite posts from the past few years.  This one was originally published on October 14, 2006:

Blogger Carl Chesal offers six little-known Ottawa tourist attractions:
  1. The Acoustic Anomaly of the Baldwin-LaFontaine Statue on Parliament Hill.
  2. The Cat Sanctuary on Parliament Hill.
  3. RCMP Musical Ride Training Facility.
  4. Gatineau Park.
  5. Bicycle along the miles and miles of pathways.
  6. Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival
(You can read Carl's full post here.)
What locations would you include on the list? Add your comment to this post below.

  1. Even many Ottawans don't know that the Rideau Waterway runs right through the city, so it qualifies as a hidden wonder. It's now a UN World Heritage Site, not to mention a great place to swim, fish, boat, paddle, rent a cottage or a tour boat.
