What's on, what's open, what's closed for the 2011 Victoria Day Weekend

  1. List of stores and services that are open on May 23
  2. (hint: if you need booze or groceries, go to Gatineau)
  3. Yes, there are fireworks on Victoria Day Monday.  Just after 10pm at Queen Juliana Park, near Dow's Lake.  More info...
  4. Those fireworks are part of the Victoria Day Festival, which continues all weekend long.
  5. Not to be confused with the Tulip Festival, which also continues all weekend long.
  6. Nor should you forget the Sheep Shearing Festival at the Canada Agriculture Museum, all weekend long.
  7. Alcatel Sunday Bikedays begin this Sunday.
  8. Frugalfish has a round-up of low-cost, mostly family events around town this weekend.
  9. Apartment 613 has a round-up of fun events for the May 2-4 weekend.
  10. Ottawa Magazine has some cool events listed in THE WEEKENDER.
  11. You could visit a local museum or go to a movie.
  12. The Great Glebe Garage Sale is not until NEXT weekend, on May 28.
    (But there are lots of local garage sales listed here.)
