Ottawa Citizen food headline typo?

I'm assuming the headline writer meant "photographers". Or maybe this is some kind of food fetish I haven't heard about before.

UPDATE: After some debate on Twitter as to whether or not this was a deliberate headline, I sent a note to Citizen food writer & blogger Ron Eade, asking him if the headline was deliberate or not. His response: "The headline says 'Tips for food pornographers.' That's what 's luscious food pics are typically called: Food porn." His colleague & Food editor Wendy Warburton confirms, "It was deliberate. Many foodies refer to luscious better-than-real food photos as 'food porn.'"

I stand corrected! Although I'm sure it made a few readers do a double-take at the breakfast table this morning.

  1. Pretty sure it's a "food porn" reference. See, for instance, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_porn

  2. Some debate today on Twitter over whether or not this was deliberate. Not everybody got the reference, but several readers did:

    @ottawross: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=foodporn

    @amwaters: Citizen likely meant pornographers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_porn

    @lordofthewings: don't think it was a typo - food pornography = taking of explicit pictures of food - 1st I heard was: http://twoak.com/edzz

    @Jim_Donnelly: Actually, I think "food porn" is a real term. It's just a little cheeky, that's all.
