This post is an extension of a few Tweets from earlier today from @OttawaStart
It was six years ago today that the power went out across Ottawa and eastern North America on August 14, 2003. Once the power (and internet) was back on, I asked OttawaStart readers to share their stories -- tonight I looked them up again and it made for some interesting reading.
That event has to be one of the top 3 cultural moments of this decade (2000-2010) in North America, along with 9/11 and Obama's election. Maybe Hurricane Katrina gets 4th place. Can you think of any other major events on the same scale? And please don't say Michael Jackson's death, it doesn't come close.
