Larry O'Brien's online campaign

Out of the three main mayoral candidates, O'Brien is clearly in the lead when it comes to embracing internet technology. He has a blog, he posts his campaign ads on YouTube, and he's even using Google Adwords to advertise online. Not surprising, really -- given that he's the CEO of a high tech firm.

We've been reading O'Brien's new campaign blog for a few days now, and we were just about to write a positive review -- until David Reevely beat us to it on the Citizen's Curbs and Gutters blog:
Larry O'Brien used to have the most boring, least current website of the three major candidates for mayor ... but he's done something bold to change that: instead of a traditional website, www.larryformayor.ca is simply a blog, updated pretty much daily with a new policy position. The design is pretty slick, with lots of bells and whistles, but the blog entries themselves are so unpolished that I'm prepared to believe they're written by the candidate himself during breaks in his canvassing.
O'Brien's entries read like the first-draft thoughts of a pretty smart guy who's spending a lot of time thinking about municipal politics, which, when you think about it, is exactly what you'd want to read from a candidate for mayor.
